Job Overview Apex Structural Innovation LLC is actively seeking a skilled Architectural Designer to join our dynamic team. This role is critical in the design and optimization of wood trusses for residential and multi-family. You will work closely with our sales team and job site managers to produce accurate, code-compliant truss designs that meet the unique needs of each structure. Learn more about us at apexstructuralinnovation.com . Key Responsibilities - Design wood trusses using industry-standard software (e.g. Alpine, MiTek, or similar). (Alpine preferable)
- Review architectural and structural plans to develop accurate and code-compliant truss layouts.
- Coordinate with our sales team and job site managers to ensure alignment of design with construction requirements.
- Optimize designs for cost efficiency, structural integrity, and buildability.
- Provide technical support during the fabrication and installation phases.
- Ensure adherence to industry standards, local building codes, and project specifications.
- Maintain organized records and update designs as project changes occur.
- Manage multiple projects concurrently under tight deadlines.
Qualifications - 3+ years of truss or architectural designing experience
- Proven experience in truss design, ideally across residential and multi-family projects.
- Proficiency with truss design software (e.g., Alpine or MiTek). (Alpine preferable)
- Understanding of wood framing and structural load paths.
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents, blueprints, and engineering drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Self-motivated with a passion for continuous learning.
- No formal licenses required, but industry certifications are a plus.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Knowledge of PDF type software
