The Assistant Global Controller will assist the Global Controller in leading Accertify’s application of US GAAP technical accounting standards, establish standards to ensure accurate and timely monthly consolidation and close processes, coordinate global accounting, balance sheet account analysis and reconciliations, financial reporting, and internal controls. This individual will also help to drive best practices and efficient uses of technology and automation, including assisting the Revenue leader in evaluating the contracting- to invoicing- to collection processes and establishing accurate and efficient customer invoicing processes, as well as working with our team and functional leaders and helping to drive value creation initiatives —thriving in a fast-paced, private-equity-backed SaaS environment with a focus on efficiency and strategic growth.

Responsibilities:
  • GAAP Accounting and Reporting:
  • Oversee the consolidation of financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of all financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports – all in accordance with GAAP.
  • Manage and optimize the monthly financial close process and ensure accuracy in reporting of results, including accuracy of transaction reporting into cost centers and product lines.
  • Ensure all balance sheets accounts are reconciled monthly.
  • Coordinate closely with the FP&A team in understanding financial results, providing input and insights into the balance sheet, cash forecast, and P&L rolling 12-month forecast.
  • Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures.
  • Assist Global Controller in leading the coordination with auditors for the annual audit of consolidated financial statements, as well as statutory and 401k audits.
  • Manage and reconcile intercompany transactions and activity.
  • Ensure the accuracy and proper reporting of revenue recognition, accounts payable, and payroll reporting.
  • Internal Controls and Compliance:
  • Design, implement, and maintain a robust global internal control framework to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial information.
  • Monitor compliance with all applicable accounting standards, regulations, and legal requirements across all global jurisdictions.
  • Team Leadership and Development:
  • Provide guidance, training, and professional development opportunities to team members.  
  • Manage the performance and development of direct reports.
  • Effectively work with remote colleagues and communication across different time zones.
  • Process Improvement and Systems:
  • Identify and implement opportunities to streamline accounting processes, improve efficiency, and enhance the accuracy of financial data.
  • Leverage technology to automate tasks and improve reporting capabilities, including the monthly close process.
  • Strategic Support and Collaboration:
  • Partner with the Global Controller, Head of Tax and Treasury, FP&A leader, CFO, and other senior leaders to implement best practices and to provide quantitative financial insights to support strategic decision-making.
  • Stay abreast of global changes in accounting standards and regulations and assess their impact on the organization.
  • Develop relationships with external auditors and other financial service providers.
  • Support mergers, acquisitions, and divestiture activities as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree required; CPA required.
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including leadership roles.
  • Experience in multi-national, private equity-owned companies, with solid knowledge of US GAAP, legal entity compliance, and foreign currency accounting.
  • Strong financial and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data, ensure reporting accuracy, and provide strategic insights.
  • Demonstrated leadership and people management skills, with a track record of mentoring high-performing colleagues and fostering close collaboration and teamwork.
  • Solid executive presence, demonstrating confidence but in a humble and modest manner.
  • Skilled in handling ambiguity and solving issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Results-driven, hands-on leader with strong attention to detail and a sense of urgency.
  • Experience with NetSuite and related financial systems.
Compensation & Benefits:
  • Salary: Competitive base salary with performance-based incentives. Potential Salary Range: $160-180K, plus an incentive-based bonus, with equity potential. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations.
  • Travel: 5% of travel, Domestic/International
