Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Assistant Nurse Manager to join our team and provide leadership and support on the inpatient psychiatric units. This position will oversee the care of patients on the Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Unit (16 beds) and the Adult Psychiatric Unit (28 beds) in a hospital setting.
As an Assistant Nurse Manager, you will work closely with the Program Director to supervise nursing staff and ensure the delivery of high-quality care to patients. Your role will involve planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care, as well as mentoring and guiding nursing personnel to foster professional development. Key Responsibilities:
Supervise the nursing process to promote patient health and well-being.
Ensure that initial nursing assessments are completed within 24 hours of admission, and reassessments are conducted regularly throughout the patient's stay.
Direct and provide nursing care in line with patient diagnoses and needs.
Administer treatments and medications as prescribed by physicians.
Facilitate smooth discharge planning for patients.
Ensure progress notes and assessments are completed promptly and accurately.
Develop individualized treatment plans for patients.
Implement and enforce staffing plans to ensure appropriate nurse-to-patient ratios.
Lead and guide nursing staff in accordance with hospital policies and nursing goals.
Support the professional development of nursing staff by identifying needs, creating training plans, and encouraging continuing education.
Monitor and evaluate the performance of nursing personnel, conducting regular performance reviews.
Collaborate with physicians, multidisciplinary team members, and external health/social agencies to provide comprehensive care.
Ensure all documentation is completed in a timely manner.
Follow established procedures for both voluntary and involuntary patient processes.
Mentor and orient new staff members as needed.

Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
Experience: At least 5 years of behavioral health nursing experience, including some supervisory experience.
Certifications: CPR Certification required.
Skills: Experience in acute care inpatient psychiatric nursing.
Schedule: Full-time with some weekend availability as needed.
