Posting Date: Job Schedule: Locations: Degree Level: Job Description: What We Are Looking For Baylor University is seeking an Athletic Trainer for Soccer to provide comprehensive medical care to student-athletes under the delegated authority of the team physician, including injury and illness management, prevention strategies, and the development of rehabilitation and return-to-play programs. Ensure communication with student-athletes, parents, physicians, and staff while maintaining confidentiality of medical information. Support the maintenance and organization of athletic training facilities and assist with travel arrangements. Educate and mentor Master of Athletic Training students, while providing education to athletes, coaches, and administrators. Adhere to NCAA, Big 12, and institutional regulations, and stay updated on best practices set by governing bodies.
A minimum of Master's Degree in Athletic Training and 2 years of work-related experience is required, preferably at the Division 1 level. Previous soccer exposure and experience in working with women's athletics is highly preferred.
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. What You Will Do Medical - Provide medical care to student-athletes under the delegated authority of the team physician including facilitation and/or coordination of injury and illness care of student-athletes. Utilize injury prevention strategies in order to minimize time loss from school and sport. Create comprehensive rehabilitation and return to play programs for various athletic injuries. Provide practice, training, and competition medical coverage for the women's soccer program.
Communication - Maintain communication with student-athletes, parents of student-athletes, team physicians, staff, and athletics administration. Appropriately maintain medical documentation for the care of student-athletes while supporting confidentiality of protected health information. Develop and maintain supportive relationships with external health care providers including athletic trainers, physical therapist, physicians and other providers supporting the healthcare of student-athletes.
Operations - Assist in the maintenance and proper use of athletic training facilities in order to create an efficient and safe working environment. Assist with packing of supplies for travel trips.
Clinical Education - Assist with the education and oversight of Master of Athletic Training Students. Provide education to student-athletes, coaches, support staff, administrators and parents.
Compliance - Maintain a working knowledge of and adherence to all NCAA, Big 12 Conference and institution rules and regulations and to communicate immediately any possible infractions of such rules and regulations to Athletics Governance and Regulatory Affairs staff.
- Adhere to best practice standards established by the NATA, NCAA CSMAS and similar governing organizations.
Other Duties - Other program duties as requested by the Director of Athletics or the area head. Administrative duties will be assigned per skills and experience.
Licenses, Certificates, Registrations - State Athletic Training License, Certified Athletic Trainer or eligible (required).
