At Senior Home Companions, we’re on a mission to provide compassionate, one-on-one care that transforms lives in Florida through various healthcare settings; including the clients' homes, hospitals, assisted living facilities, and teaching hospitals. This role is critical in delivering high-quality patient care, monitoring vital signs, and ensuring the comfort and safety of patients.
Responsibilities Will Include: - Providing non-medical personal care, including bathing, grooming, and toileting.
- Assisting with daily living activities like light housekeeping and meal prep.
- Offering companionship and engaging our clients in activities they love
- Monitor and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure
- Provide support in critical care environments, including PICU and medical-surgical units
- Must be able to assist clients with transfers
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by following infection control protocols
- Assist nursing staff with medical procedures and treatments as directed
- Document patient information accurately in electronic health record systems
- Participate in patient education by teaching basic health concepts and care instructions
Requirements: What We’re Looking For: - Experience: Someone who is experienced in the field and with Alzheimer's/Dementia and holds a CNA and/or HHA license
- Compassion: A genuine love for spending time with seniors and making them smile and a commitment to maintaining patient dignity,
- Skills: Ability to assist with personal care, daily living activities, companionship, and other client needs.
Requirements: - Experience in a hospital or assisted living setting is a plus
- Knowledge of infectious disease care practices
- Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments such as critical care units
- Strong communication skills to interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members
- Must be able to speak, read and write English
- Physical ability to lift patients and perform tasks that require standing for extended periods
- Commitment to providing compassionate care and maintaining patient dignity
- Driver's license is a must, professional liability insurance is preferred
- Must be able to pass a level 2 background
