The Civil Rights and Title IX Investigator assists in resolving complaints of harassment, discrimination, and sexual misconduct and analyzes concerns, and conducts formal investigations of harassment, discrimination, and sexual misconduct cases involving students, faculty and staff. The Investigator conducts prompt and thorough investigations under relevant campus policies, acts as a neutral party to the investigation and provides a detailed, unbiased report regarding the investigation. The Investigator also serves as a resource to members of the university community with questions or concerns related to harassment, discrimination, and/or sexual misconduct.
Bachelors degree.
One year of professional experience conducting formal complaint investigations involving issues of alleged harassment, discrimination, and/or sexual misconduct.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to convey relevant information clearly in written reports.
Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively with individuals from underrepresented groups with understanding and sensitivity to issues experienced by individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, and to work on sensitive and stressful matters in a professional and confidential manner.
Demonstrated ability to accurately analyze and apply legal and policy standards to specific factual situations, to handle a significant caseload, manage multiple deadlines, and maintain detailed records.

Professional experience conducting investigations in a university setting.
Investigator training certification in harassment, discrimination, and/or sexual misconduct investigations.
Experience working in or with institutions of higher education.
Conducts harassment, discrimination, and/or sexual misconduct investigations from inception to resolution, in a prompt and thorough manner.
Drafts memoranda and reports related to the investigative process.
Reviews and analyzes all allegations of harassment, discrimination, and sexual misconduct thoroughly to determine appropriate investigatory scope and determine if allegations and preliminary assessment call for interim remedial measures.
Leads witness interviews, analyzes witness statements, makes credibility assessments, records findings of fact, and communicates with parties and witnesses while protecting the independence, integrity, and confidentiality of the investigation.
Drafts and presents memoranda of findings and appropriate supporting documentation related to the resolution of each matter in a neutral and unbiased manner.
Recommends appropriate sanctions in accordance with university policy.
Provides on-going updates regarding the status of complaints received and investigations in progress to the Executive Director of OCRIE, or designee.
