Our client in the Healthcare space is looking for a Controller to join their team remotely with up to 25% travel to Florida. The Controller plays a vital role in supporting and strengthening the company by overseeing the daily operations of the finance function and ensuring accurate management, maintenance, and reporting of financial data. This information is essential for company leadership to make informed decisions and monitor key financial metrics. Additionally, the Controller will create innovative reporting tools to enhance communication around performance results, identify areas for improvement, and highlight major achievements.
What You'll Be Doing: - Manage all accounting and financial functions, including general ledger maintenance, revenue recognition, inventory tracking, fixed asset accounting, accounts payable/receivable, and cash flow oversight.
- Prepare, review, and interpret key financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow reports, and liabilities summaries.
- Supervise finance and accounting staff, providing leadership, direction, and support for daily tasks and ongoing projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external service providers to analyze financial and operational data, identifying cost drivers, efficiency opportunities, and overall business performance.
- Develop, document, and oversee processes for financial closings, billing, invoicing, expense tracking, and reimbursements to ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory standards.
- Ensure proper reconciliation and recording of expenses and payables outlined in contracts and legal agreements, verifying that payments align with contractual terms.
- Review monthly journal entries and variance reports to ensure accurate and timely month-end financial closes.
- Lead the coordination, tracking, and reporting of annual budgets and performance forecasts. Oversee the calculation and review of bonuses tied to operational and financial performance.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to define standardized financial data sets, reporting timelines, and performance updates in relation to forecasts.
- Manage the collection and documentation of data for business forecasts and updates on financial position relative to projections.
- Conduct or oversee internal audits and financial risk assessments, recommending and supporting corrective actions as needed.
- Deliver timely and accurate financial insights and reports for executive management and investors.
- Prepare and manage all year-end tax filings and documentation for the company and its external tax providers.
Experience/Knowledge You Bring: - Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- A minimum of 5 years of full cycle accounting experience preferably within the healthcare industry.
- Minimum of 2 years of direct managerial or supervisory experience.
- CPA, CGMA or similar certification preferred.
- Experience with NetSuite a Plus!
