Job Title: Cost Accountant

Job Summary:

The Cost Accountant is a key member of the Operations Accounting team who will act as a partner to various leaders of the Operations team (Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, etc.) by providing financial reporting and guidance. The position will also ensure that product costs and inventory are accurately costed and monitored.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Creating and releasing new product costs
  • Calculating and tracking overhead costs and reporting them on a regular basis
  • Investigate and report on variances (yield, production, and purchasing)
  • Inventory Cycle Count Analysis
  • Inventory analysis and reporting
  • Management of Precious Metals process
  • ROI Analysis and preparation for CAPEX Requests
  • Maintaining Account reconciliations and SOX Controls as assigned
  • Forecasting and budgeting for Operations Cost Centers, including expenses, capex and headcount
  • Month-end journal entries
  • Respond to external auditors’ requests
  • Work on cross-functional team projects (like ERP implementations, acquisitions, etc.)

Key Competencies Required:

  • Solid understanding of ERP system (SAP FI/CO preferred)
  • Ability to interpret and understand bills of material
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Advanced Excel and analytical skills
  • SAP SAC or Power BI experience preferred
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment and interact with all levels of the organization
  • Work under minimal supervision with the demonstrated ability to establish priorities, plan workload and establish commitment for on time task completion
  • Ability to identify & implement process improvements
  • Strong business acumen
  • Occasional Travel Required

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS in Accounting/Finance or equivalent experience
  • 3+ Years in Cost Accounting
  • Certification (CMA, CGMA, or CPA)
