Description We are looking for an experienced Defense Attorney to join a thriving legal team in Louisville, Kentucky. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with a strong background in various defense practices and an established book of business. As a key member of the firm, you will contribute to its expanding community presence and help drive continued growth. Responsibilities: - Represent clients in cases involving workers' compensation defense, medical malpractice defense, general liability, and commercial litigation. - Develop legal strategies and provide counsel to clients based on case specifics. - Draft motions, briefs, and other legal documents with precision and attention to detail. - Conduct thorough discovery processes to gather and analyze evidence. - Collaborate with colleagues to prepare for hearings, trials, and negotiations. - Maintain and expand your existing book of business while fostering strong client relationships. - Stay informed on changes in laws and regulations relevant to defense litigation. - Advocate for clients in court proceedings, ensuring their interests are effectively represented. - Manage multiple cases simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining quality. - Contribute to the firm's growth by actively participating in community initiatives and networking. Requirements - Must be a licensed attorney, who has passed the bar, and eligible to practice law in the state of Kentucky. - Proven experience in civil litigation with a focus on defense cases. - Strong skills in drafting motions, briefs, and other legal documentation. - Expertise in discovery processes, including evidence gathering and analysis. - Ability to develop effective legal strategies and provide sound advice to clients. - Excellent communication and negotiation skills to represent clients effectively. - Demonstrated ability to manage a caseload and meet deadlines consistently. - Existing book of business with established client relationships is required.
