Dental Coordinator


Full-Time Position

Compensation: $20.00 – $30.00 per hour (final rate dependent on experience, insurance expertise, and ability to work independently at the front desk)

Expected Hours: Up to 40 hours per week (no overtime)

Schedule:

  • 8-hour shifts, Monday to Friday
  • Friday hours typically 8:00 am – 11:00 am

Overview:
We are seeking an organized, personable, and detail-oriented Dental Coordinator to join our team. As the first point of contact for patients, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring smooth daily operations. This role requires strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and deep knowledge of dental insurance and administrative workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet patients warmly and assist with check-in and check-out processes.
  • Manage and schedule appointments efficiently for multiple providers.
  • Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Handle incoming calls and respond to inquiries regarding services, insurance, and appointments.
  • Process patient information, ensuring complete and accurate documentation.
  • Maintain and organize electronic records, keeping demographic and insurance data current.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to support efficient patient flow during visits.
  • Use dental insurance codes for billing; understand and interpret Explanation of Benefits (EOBs).
  • Submit claims electronically with attachments, post payments and adjustments, follow up on denied claims, and handle appeals.
  • Reduce accounts receivable and collect payments at the time of service.

Required Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a dental office setting.
  • Proficiency in dental scheduling software and phone systems.
  • Strong understanding of dental insurance, including EOB interpretation and claim processes.
  • Ability to work independently as the sole front desk team member.
  • Strong typing and technology skills (email, patient reminder, and texting software).
