As the hub of the brand, the adidas North American Product Merchandising team drives how our products show up to serve the consumer and elevate our experience. We are brand led storytellers who build product offerings that connect with and inspire our consumer. We build assortments that are brand led, consumer right and appropriately segmented to win in the NAM marketplace.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver seasonal product journeys, franchise growth plans, pricing, and develop seasonal flows in partnership with Product Managers & Design to address global market needs to plan for each season.
  • Own the planning, curating, landing, and measuring consumer assortments for NAM and work in partnership across markets to ensure assortment is also correct for local relevance.
  • Ensure we are landing the right product, at the right time, to the right segmentation, in the right volume and at the right price (across all markets with an ownership to NAM).
  • Work, as part of BU senior team, to plan seasonal key segments and growth opportunities.
  • Own the GTM operations for global key milestone management & delivery, in addition to NAM milestones, and support key account sell-in (COVAs, Previews, Prelines), working in partnership with product management and NAM sales teams.
  • Work in partnership with Product Managers to provide locally specific product creation onto of inline range development for commercial opportunities.
  • Influence and drive the GTM category, range plans and consumer insights to internal teams and key strategic retailer
  • Develop processes to provide clear market performance overviews (including weekly ST reporting, monthly/quarterly market share overview…etc) that can influence product creation and future planning
  • Work closely with NAM planning, sales, and finance partnering on order flow and inventory management.
  • Lead and motivate direct reports ensuring best in class mentorship, training and development for category and career growth

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Skill in MS Office applications (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

  • Ability to provide merchandising leadership, including ability to manage/mentor team
  • Ability to travel both domestically and internationally as needed
  • Excellent consumer understanding and ability to interpret insights against strategy
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with and influence all levels of the organization
  • A thorough understanding of customer markets and trends
  • Category specific understanding preferred
  • Strong analytical and planning skills
  • Ability to travel domestic and international up to 20% of time

 

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Four year college or university degree, preferably in Business/Merchandising or related field preferred; and
  • Seven (7) years related industry experience
  • Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for degree
  • Previous merchandising experience in the sporting goods industry preferred
  • US marketplace experience preferred

  • The anticipated low and high end of the base pay range for this position is $133,000 - $200,000. Actual salary will be based on various factors, such as a candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills and competencies, proficiency for the role.
  • At adidas we offer a Hybrid work policy which requires attendance in the office Monday through Thursday, with the flexibility to work remotely on Friday each week. For work requiring a high degree of collaboration or an in-person presentation, in-office attendance is required even on Friday. The working location of this position is Los Angeles, California.
