Job Description

We are looking for experienced Sign Language Interpreters to join our remote education team! In this role, you'll be using your interpreting expertise combined with digital skills to provide support for students in an online learning environment. Position Overview: As a Virtual Sign Language Interpreter, you'll be responsible for delivering American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation services in live online classrooms. This role requires strong interpreting abilities, as well as a comfort level with technology to navigate digital learning platforms and enhance the educational experience for students.

Work Details:

Hours: 32.5 to 37.5 hours per week
Schedule: Follows a standard academic calendar
Focus: Secondary education (middle and high school)
Settings: Interpretation in both one-on-one and group settings
Delivery Mode: Virtual platforms

Key Responsibilities:

Provide high-quality ASL interpretation during live classes
Ensure students can actively participate in academic discussions
Facilitate smooth communication between students, teachers, and peers
Keep accurate and up-to-date service records
Participate in virtual team meetings to stay aligned with the educational goals
Adjust interpreting styles to meet individual student needs
Collaborate with the educational support team to foster an inclusive learning environment

Required Qualifications:

Minimum 3.5 EIPA score
At least two years of K-12 interpreting experience
Proven ability to communicate effectively in virtual environments
A dedicated home office setup for remote work
Reliable high-speed internet access
Familiarity with online learning platforms (e.g., Zoom, Google Classroom)

Preferred Qualifications:

4.0 EIPA score or higher
RID/NIC certification
Completed written EIPA exam
Prior experience with virtual education
Strong technology proficiency and familiarity with digital tools
