Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Manager
📍 Kohler, WI

A leading global manufacturer in the automotive sector is seeking a Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Manager to oversee and advance its safety programs at its Wisconsin facility. This is a key leadership position focused on promoting a strong culture of health, safety, and environmental excellence across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Wisconsin-based HSE team, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and compliance standards.
  • Foster a proactive safety culture through continuous awareness, training, and best practice implementation.
  • Review and update internal HSE policies to ensure ongoing compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Conduct hazard and risk assessments, offering actionable solutions to enhance safety and reduce exposure.
  • Act as the primary resource for all regulatory compliance matters, including interaction with OSHA, EPA, and other governing agencies.
  • Oversee staffing, mentoring, and strategic direction of the local HSE department.
  • Prepare and manage the annual HSE budget, delivering regular reports to local and business unit leadership.
  • Develop and implement training programs that promote safe work practices and increase safety awareness among employees.
  • Facilitate routine safety meetings and monitor site performance and HSE KPIs.
  • Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping for compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other safety/regulatory requirements.
  • Administer and improve ISO14001, ISO45001, and ISO50001 management systems.
  • Drive the implementation of corporate and global HSE initiatives at the local level.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in HSE management within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal and state safety regulations and best practices.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with HSE management software is a plus.
  • OSHA 10/30 certified; OSHA 500, ASP, or CSP certifications are strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in risk assessment, compliance, and ISO management systems.
