Project Overview:

Driftwood LNG LLC is located approximately 11 miles southwest of Lake Charles, Louisiana. The project includes a mid-scale, mixed-refrigerant Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) production and export facility on the west side of the Calcasieu River. There are five identical process plants. Each process plant consists of one gas pre-treatment unit, one condensate stabilization unit, and four Chart heavy hydrocarbon (HHC) removal and liquefaction groups. The facility will include associated utilities, refrigerant storage, three 235,000m3 full-containment LNG storage tanks, and three marine berths.

Job Summary:

The Field Engineer - Marine is responsible for supporting the marine related works. You will provide project field engineering specialization and expertise with work planning and packaging, material management, quantity verification and validation, safety and quality control, technical inspection and testing knowledge, and subcontract coordination. Your recommendations will ensure field engineering activities operate safely, are complete, and conform to quality standards and project requirements. 

Major Responsibilities:

Work Planning & Packaging 

• Prepares construction drawings and sketches. 
• Facilitates planning construction methods and procedures.   

Material Management  

• Initiates requisitions for field purchases 
• Prepares quantity takeoffs of field purchased material and equipment. 

Quantities 

• Verifies commodities on quantity tracking systems or other computer database systems as required.  

Safety / Quality Control 

• Ensures zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely. 

Technical  

• Proactively considers continuous learning or show interest to pursue appropriate learning activities 
• Leads preparation of construction drawings and schedules and the design of temporary construction facilities (in consultation with design engineering as applicable) and ensures preparation of "as built" drawings and other job plans.  

For Direct Hire:  

• Develops firm understanding of system and area scoping and drawings required for package development. 

STR / Subcontract Coordinator 

• Reviews and approves inspection test plans,  
• Coordinates reviews of subcontractor submittals,  

Education and Experience Requirements:

Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Experience in Pile driving and familiarity with Marine Construction
• Ability to work on barges over water.
• Direct hire construction experience on large scale project
• Have working knowledge of structural construction operations.
• Demonstrated commitment to Environment, Safety and Health (ES&H). Demonstrated commitment to a Zero Accident safety program
• Must be familiar with environmental control processes in marine environments
• Must be computer-literate in word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.
• Must be familiar with current industry quality standards.
• Basic ability to utilize the TeamWorks automation suite as the Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs).
• Basic knowledge of Unifier for routing and resolving Requests for Information (RFIs), Field Change Documents (FCDs), and Non Conformance/Compliance Reports (NCRs) between project sites, contractors, clients, and home office.
• Basic knowledge of work packaging.
• Intermediate understanding of production management including scheduling.
• Strong communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Intermediate knowledge of cost management including estimating and forecast development.
