FULL TIME POLICE OFFICER

Notice is hereby given that the City of New Franklin Police Department is accepting applications for a full-timePolice Officer .
Police Officers perform a wide variety of general and specific police functions within the City of New Franklin to preserve and protect life and property, to enforce laws and ordinances, and prevent and detect crime. These tasks require knowledge of department operations, and state, local and federal statutes. The Police Officer must be dedicated to the City's mission and vision and will uphold the shared values of commitment, respect, and accountability, excellence and safety to internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications/ Requirements- Possess a thorough knowledge of State and local laws and ordinances and their application to the law enforcement profession; possess the personality traits necessary to function effectively as a full-time police officer; meet requirements as set forth in the City of New Franklin Job Description for Full-time Police Officer. Applicants will also be required to pass a drug screening, provide a valid OPOTA Certificate prior to employment, and complete an online psychological evaluation. In addition, the successful applicant must complete and pass the State certified Police Physical Agility Test within his or her probationary period, or have completed same within the last 12 months.

Wages-** The current full-time pay schedule is based on a three-step program ranging from $57,997.84 to $77,330.45 annually. New hires may qualify to start at a higher level commensurate with experience at the discretion of the mayor. New hires are subject to completing a one-year probationary period. Benefits include health, dental and life insurance, as well as paid holidays, personal, sick and vacation days.
