HIGH PERFORMANCE GENERAL SALES MANAGER WANTED! Are you the one to lead Freeland Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and RAM sales team? We are Nashville’s only CDJR dealership with unlimited potential! We are currently seeking an experienced and driven General Sales Manager willing to be hands on and in the trenches with the team. JOB DESCRIPTION:The General Sales Manager will be responsible for the high performance of the new and used vehicle departments. It starts with leading people to maximize their abilities to perform at a high level thereby achieving volume, gross profit, expense controls, and net profit objectives. Process driven, detail oriented, relentless training and development of the team are key. Areas of control and input include; sales process, lead management, inventory management, CSI, marketing/ advertising, pricing, personnel, variable and semi-fixed expenses. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead, motivate, and manage the sales team to achieve sales targets and KPIs.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to maximize dealership profitability.
  • Manage inventory and ensure the lot is properly stocked with vehicles that align with market demand.
  • Monitor and track sales performance, customer interactions, and closing rates.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with customers to ensure repeat business and referrals.
  • Oversee the negotiation and closing of vehicle sales, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as Finance and Service to ensure smooth operations.
  • Implement and enforce dealership policies and procedures to maintain compliance with legal and company standards.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and training to sales staff to enhance product knowledge, sales techniques, and customer service skills.
  • Handle escalated customer concerns or complaints professionally and effectively.
  • Ensure proper follow-up with leads and prospects.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven experience as a General Sales Manager, Sales Manager, or similar role in the automotive industry.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, train, and develop team.
  • In-depth knowledge of the automotive sales process, inventory management, and customer relationship management (CRM) systems.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze sales data and identify areas for improvement.
  • High level of professionalism and customer service skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet sales targets.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Previous experience as a GSM or Sales Manager preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Ability to pass a background check to included a Motor Vehicle Report and a pre-employment drug screen.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
