Job Title: Junior NOC Security Analyst
Location: Fairfax, VA.
Salary: $60,000 - $90,000.

About the Job:

Hybrid Position - Up to 3 Days On-Site Weekly.

US Citizen - Must Be Eligible to Obtain a Secret Clearance.

Summary:

The Junior ISSO will provide support for maintenance, upgrade, and technology insertion for a DoD-approved unclassified network with multiple sites. This role involves assisting with creating and maintaining policies/procedures/SOPs and supporting the Assessment and Authorization (A&A) process utilizing the Risk Management Framework (RMF) within eMASS. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, eager to learn, excel in team environments, and have familiarity with Linux and Windows operating systems. This is an immediate hire position with the expectation that the candidate can obtain a Secret clearance if not already held.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in continuous monitoring and self-assessment processes.
• Provide input on risk assessment activities for new applications or systems.
• Participate in engineering discussions to ensure compliance with DoD guidelines for new applications.
• Help document and maintain Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and ensure their proper implementation.
• Perform hardening and auditing of Linux and Windows devices and various software such as application servers and databases.

Assessment and Authorization Support:

• Assist in maintaining and updating authorization documents within eMASS.
• Support the development and implementation of processes for new system architectures ensuring compliance with DoD directives.
• Aid in the preparation of authorization documents for review by the Authorizing Official.
• Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to ensure custom-developed applications adhere to DoD policies and procedures.
• Support the maintenance of Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M) within eMASS.

Team Collaboration:

• Participate in daily operations meetings to discuss progress and responsibilities.
• Actively engage with team members to coordinate efforts and ensure timely task completion.
• Observe and recommend improvements to existing Cybersecurity processes.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

• 0-5 years of experience in cybersecurity, information systems, or a related field.
• Security+ Certification (or equivalent IAM-I level certification).
• Familiarity with Linux and Windows operating systems.
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Desired Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of RMF, eMASS, and DoD compliance frameworks.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• A collaborative mindset with a willingness to learn and adapt.
