Job Title: Logistics and Packing Associate
Reports To: Team Leader
Department: Warehouse
Job Summary:
The Logistics and Packing Associate is responsible for optimizing freight shipments, providing hands-on assistance to the Order Processors, fulfilling the Order Processor role as needed, processing shipments requiring return to the vendor, and other physical shipments. They will also facilitate efficient shipment organization, truck loading, and maintenance of a clean and safe work environment in the shipping and staging areas of the warehouse.
Key Responsibilities:
- Freight Shipment Optimization
- Optimize freight shipments to ensure efficient and cost-effective transportation.
- Provide hands-on assistance to the Order Processors as required.
- Fulfill the role of Order Processor as needed to address any backlog, subject to personal schedule constraints.
- Process shipments requiring return to the vendor and other physical shipments not handled by Order Processors.
- Shipment Facilitation
- Organize outbound skids and ground orders to facilitate efficient pickups.
- Load trucks efficiently while preserving positive relationships with drivers.
- Provide support as needed to maximize order fulfillment, balancing driver needs and schedule constraints.
- Secure skids using wrap and/or banding.
- Warehouse Support
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in the shipping and staging areas of the warehouse.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1-2 years of experience in a logistics or warehousing role
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficient in using warehouse management software and other relevant tools
- Forklift certification preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
