The Loss Prevention Manager is responsible for overseeing daily security operations at Hyatt Regency Indianapolis. This role balances loss prevention, guest and associate safety, and documentation with a strong focus on hospitality and care. You will lead and support a team of security professionals, ensuring the hotel remains a safe, welcoming, and responsive environment for all.

In addition to standard safety and guest service responsibilities, the Loss Prevention Manager is expected to complete accurate daily reporting, conduct and monitor touch routes, and consistently report observations through Hotsos related to housekeeping, engineering, or facility issues. This role also includes creating and managing the department’s work schedule based on hotel occupancy levels and event needs, ensuring appropriate staffing coverage at all times.

Responsibilities:

1. Safety and Security Leadership

  • Enforce and support all property-wide security and safety policies.

  • Lead with empathy, ensuring a secure yet welcoming environment.

2. Team Supervision and Scheduling

  • Recruit, train, and mentor security team members.

  • Create and adjust schedules based on hotel occupancy and event demands, maintaining appropriate coverage while controlling labor costs.

  • Conduct regular performance check-ins and address concerns constructively.

3. Daily Reporting and Property Monitoring

  • Complete and review daily shift reports accurately.

  • Perform and track touch routes to maintain consistent coverage across the property.

  • Log and escalate facility, cleanliness, and safety concerns through Hotsos, ensuring timely attention from Housekeeping and Engineering.

4. Guest and Associate Support

  • Maintain high visibility across public areas; build rapport with guests and colleagues.

  • Respond to guest/associate concerns promptly and compassionately.

5. Risk Management and Documentation

  • Conduct risk assessments and coordinate loss prevention strategies.

  • Ensure all incidents are thoroughly documented and properly reported for insurance and liability purposes.

6. Emergency Response and Coordination

  • Lead or support emergency response efforts.

  • Coordinate with other departments during incidents to ensure efficient and safe resolutions.

7. Training and Awareness

  • Conduct regular department training on safety, emergency procedures, and service expectations.

  • Help educate guests and staff about safety procedures in a friendly, informative manner.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree preferred

  • Minimum 3 years of security or safety experience (hospitality preferred)

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Experience with incident reporting systems; familiarity with Hotsos is a plus

  • Proven ability to lead a team and manage a department schedule

  • Solid understanding of loss prevention and emergency procedures

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed
