MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR – Food Manufacturing

Our client is a leading manufacturer of high frozen appetizers and ethnic foods sold across the US. Due to explosive growth, they are seeking an experienced MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR to be based at their flagship plant in the greater Dallas, TX area . The Maintenance Supervisor will direct skilled maintenance personnel and ensure production equipment is maintained and repaired in a timely and cost efficient manner. Applicants MUST have prior maintenance experience with a FOOD manufacturer
RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise Maintenance Technicians, including: hiring, training, evaluations and disciplinary actions.
Manage preventative maintenance and repair schedules. Plan staffing schedule, assigns work appropriately, and ensures services are performed to meet Production needs.
Manage contract services as necessary. Work with purchasing department on negotiation and any contract work as needed.
Make recommendations to improve efficiencies and reduce down time and labor and over-time expenses.
Ensures compliance with OSHA and safety regulations. Train staff in safety as necessary.
Additional duties and responsibilities as needed.
Monitors costs and yearly budget.
Responsible for manufacturing, distributing and consistently maintaining safe and quality food by following good manufacturing practices, allergen controls, food defense, HACCP and SQF requirements.
Responsible for immediately reporting all food safety and quality issues to your manager.
Responsible for partnering with others; Sharing knowledge, skills and information within your team and across functional areas.
Responsible for enhancing technical and functional competencies, as well as professional and leadership development.
REQUIREMENTS
BA or BS degree preferred but will consider applicants without a BA/BS degree provided they have at least 5 years of hands on maintenance experience with a food manufacturer.
MUST have at least 2 years of Maintenance experience with a Food, beverage or ingredient manufacturer
Must have prior maintenance supervisor experience, preferable in the food industry.
Prefer some experience working with PLC's, preventative maintenance programs, high-speed packing machinery, and down-time analysis.
Must be a self motivated, organized and be able to work in a very fast paced, dynamic environment
Must be flexible with hours and be willing to work on the off shift occasionally
Must be computer literate and have experience with Microsoft Word and Excel required.
