The Role

The Major Incident Manager is responsible for managing NOC operations and projects as well as providing technical oversight to a team of 24X7 techs and engineers. Individuals fulfilling this role must be skilled in one or more network technologies at an engineer level as well possessing conceptual knowledge of NOC operations overall. The role is also responsible for assessing the efficiency of operational processes as well as improving, automating and documenting changes as required. This individual must have strong leadership skills and be able to influence and work effectively with cross functional teams.

The Main Responsibilities

  • Provides technical direction to projects and day to day operations in an assigned area.
  • Lead and maintain Major Incident Management stakeholder partnership to ensure overall resolution and desired outcomes. Execution will require occasional weekends and flexible work hours to support and effectively manage on demand focus of the role. Some tasks include leading outage bridges, engaging support resources, to include 3rd party.
  • Develops methodologies, procedures, and consults on automation development.
  • Develops project progress and status reports through review of data on assigned tasks.
  • Acts as project team leader while contributing to the overall success of the NOC when required to technically engage in network management and repair tasks.

What We Look For in a Candidate

Required

  • Network protocol knowledge common to Transport, IP, and Voice
  • Power and Infrastructure working knowledge
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and related experience
  • 8+ years related experience
  • This role operates and involve working on weekends and providing On-Call support if needed.

Preferred

  • Strong understanding of ITIL and Major Incident Management practices.
  • Experience with automation and monitoring technologies.
  • Good understanding of infrastructure technologies and Data center
  • Understanding of Hybrid Cloud, IaaS & PaaS Architecture, Networking Knowledge, Storage/database, and Mainframe knowhow would be added advantage
  • Friendly, outgoing, positive approach to daily work and interactions, and a no-nonsense approach to solving problems and driving results.

Compensation

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

$82,969 - $110,625 in these states: AL AR AZ FL GA IA ID IN KS KY LA ME MO MS MT ND NE NM OH OK PA SC SD TN UT VT WI WV WY 
$87,117 - $116,156 in these states: CO HI MI MN NC NH NV OR RI 
$91,266 - $121,688 in these states: AK CA CT DC DE IL MA MD NJ NY TX VA WA
