Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a Summer intern for Summer 2026. In this role, you will perform design, drafting and stress analysis tasks. The successful candidate will have experience and/or knowledge of 3D modeling and/or knowledge of Stress analysis/Finite Element Analysis.
Required: Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Basic Qualifications: Actively enrolled in a Mechanical or Structural Engineering Bachelor's Degree
Demonstrated understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals including structures, mechanisms, materials, and analysis
Experience in Engineering CAD tools (Any 3-D Platform such as CREO or SolidWorks) OR stress analysis experience/Finite Element Analysis
Desired Skills: Candidate must have the ability to work in an environment with evolving requirements and dynamic schedules
Candidate must have good oral, written, and presentation communication skills
Knowledge of industry standards and federal regulations including ANSI, OSHA, and AWS standards applicable to mechanical and structural systems
Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and ASME Y14.5
Hands-on experience through project work, internship experience or building/working on personal projects

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
