Duties and Responsibilities

As an MS Compliance Officer I, you will be responsible for reviewing and monitoring title and registration documents for compliance with Florida Statutes. The incumbent will be responsible for reviewing title applications for law enforcement personnel, entering vehicle information through data processing functions, reviewing title applications for odometer/title discrepancies and possible odometer, title and registration fraud.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Skill reviewing and/or analyzing Motor Vehicle records.
  • Ability to proofread and verify data for accuracy.
  • Skill in drafting correspondence/letters/memos using Microsoft Word.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to conduct fact-finding research (investigate) and collect data.
  • Ability to analyze information and compile data in report format.
  • Skill in utilizing Microsoft Office applications; Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of FRVIS, DAVID and Motorist Maintenance.
  • Knowledge of Motor Vehicle procedures, regulations, rules, and policies.
  • Skill in customer service.
  • Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to driver license and immigration activities.

 

Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to applicants who have experience:

  • Applicants with experience conducting fact-finding research (investigating) and collecting data to complete reports and/or investigations.
  • Applicants with experience in data entry and maintaining databases.
  • Applicants with skill in drafting correspondence, including letters, memos and emails, using Microsoft Word.

Job Related Requirements

  • The position you are applying is subject to a Level 2 background check, along with Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) clearance, to include a fingerprint-based check of the criminal records of the FBI, as a condition of employment pursuant to Chapter 110.1127, 435 and 943, Florida Statutes. Please note that, since this position requires CJIS clearance, the Department will have access to all an applicant’s criminal and juvenile delinquency records, even those that have been sealed or expunged. 

 

  • The elements of the selection process may include a skill assessment and/or oral interview.
  • Applicants being considered for employment will be required to submit to a fingerprint-based background investigation, which will include a check of the criminal history records of the FBI. Fingerprints and associated information/biometrics will be retained in the FBI’s Next Generation Identification (NGI) system and fingerprints may continue to be compared against fingerprints submitted to or retained by NGI.
  • FLHSMV employees are paid once a month on the last workday of each month. All state employees are required to participate in the direct deposit program pursuant to s. 110.113 Florida Statutes.
