Salary: $91,600 - 153,000 per year Requirements:

• U.S. Citizenship is required for obtaining and holding a U.S. security clearance.
• Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility (mandatory).
• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Cybersecurity, or a related field (consideration for additional relevant experience in lieu of a degree).
• 5–7 years of experience in managing enterprise networks within the DoD, federal, or regulated environments.
• Current CCNA certification (mandatory).
• Current DoD 8140 IAT Level III certification (e.g., CASP+ CE, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP or Associate, GCED, GCIH, CCSP, or CISM).
• Skillful in configuring and maintaining Cisco networking infrastructure.
• Knowledge of supporting or implementing the Risk Management Framework (RMF) as per DoD and DoN cybersecurity standards.
• Familiarity with vulnerability management, patch compliance, and information assurance controls.

Responsibilities:

• We at AMERICAN SYSTEMS are looking for a Senior Network Security Engineer with 5–7 years of direct experience to help ensure secure infrastructure operations for a classified DoD client. This position merges essential network engineering and cybersecurity duties.
• Your primary responsibilities will include:
• Configuring and troubleshooting Cisco routers and switches to create secure and reliable access across classified networks.
• Installing, managing, and supporting enterprise LAN and WAN infrastructure, including routine performance optimization and daily health checks.
• Assisting remote users with equipment setup and resolving Layer 2 and Layer 3 connectivity issues.
• Troubleshooting Cisco infrastructure, VPN, and VMware connectivity problems.
• Monitoring system logs and backups to ensure smooth operation and timely completion of scheduled tasks.
• Aiding in software installations, upgrades, license management, and the application of authorized security patches.
• Managing user accounts and maintaining access control policies in line with cybersecurity best practices.
• Contributing to incident response, vulnerability mitigation, and identifying potential security threats.
• Collaborating with internal teams and vendor representatives to solve technical and operational challenges.
• Participating in the documentation of network procedures and operational standards.
• Working independently or with minimal oversight to manage assigned tasks and enhance overall network security posture.
