Position Description:
The Department of Theory and History of Art and Design ( THAD ) at Rhode Island School of Design ( RISD ), invites applications for part-time faculty members to teach in the spring semester, 2025. Applications for fall 2025 will also be considered.

THAD seeks art historians to teach required and elective courses to RISD undergraduate students. Opportunities include teaching sections of THAD's first-year introductory courses (H101: Global Modernisms and H102: Critical Introduction to the History of Architecture and Design), and teaching elective lectures and seminars on topics in the candidate's area of expertise. The department is especially interested in adding electives in the following areas: history of drawing, history of animation, ancient and early modern South Asian art and design, early modern art and design of Europe, contemporary design (especially digital design).Required Qualifications:
