Control Risks is seeking a Technical Security Program Specialist to support the client’s current protective design team. This role will help the existing team by helping with the review of construction documents to ensure security requirements are met from a security technology standard.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Ensure that all security requirements and guidelines are clearly communicated to the project team. This will require working across all levels of the organization to provide background and educate both technical and non-technical stakeholders on security requirements.
Work with internal stakeholders to understand and implement the client’s physical security standards into all new construction projects.
Working with other members of the security design team, review construction plans for new builds and retrofits to ensure technology design standards are met.
Provide recommendations for technological security standards based on risk level, feedback from security design team, and other factors in accordance with the program’s risk-based methodology.
Concisely articulate the impact of identified risks and appropriate mitigation measures for non-technical audiences and senior client stakeholders.
Perform threat / crime research and analysis for potential project sites (Existing Conditions Review).
Structure and share risk and project data with other security teams (risk registers, etc.).
Bachelor’s degree
3+ years of experience in technical and/or physical security design.
Knowledge of and experience with design and construction management.
Experience with project management.
Knowledge of CPTED standards.
Experience with communicating technical information to technical, non-technical and senior-level personnel.
Understanding of hostile vehicle design studies and models a plus.
Understanding of blast design studies and models a plus.
Relevant professional registration(s) and/or certifications.

The base salary range for this position in California is $90,000-$100,000 per year. Exact compensation offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This information is provided per California SB 1162.
