Job Description

Responsible for inspecting, diagnosing faults, repairing and testing pneumatic components like valves, fittings, and tubing on a workbench, ensuring their proper functionality and compliance with safety standards, often utilizing specialized tools and test equipment to identify and rectify issues.

Key Responsibilities:

Component Inspection:Visually inspecting pneumatic components for damage, wear, leaks, or contamination.

Fault Diagnosis:Utilizing testing equipment like pressure gauges, flow meters, and air leak detectors to pinpoint malfunctions within pneumatic systems.

Disassembling pneumatic components for thorough cleaning and inspection of internal parts. 

Repair and Replacement: Replacing worn or damaged seals, o-rings, pistons, and other components as needed.Calibrating pressure regulators, flow controls, and other pneumatic devices to ensure accurate performance.

Reassembling repaired pneumatic components and conducting comprehensive functional tests under simulated operating conditions.

Maintaining detailed records of repairs, including component details, test results, and parts used.

Parts:Identifying necessary replacement parts for repairs

Troubleshooting and Analyzing complex pneumatic system malfunctions and developing solutions to rectify them. 

Following all safety protocols related to compressed air systems, including proper handling of high-pressure lines and equipment.

Required Skills and Knowledge:

  • Understanding of Pneumatic Principles: Thorough knowledge of pneumatic system design, operation, and components
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in using pneumatic tools like air compressors, pressure regulators, and test equipment. 
  • Mechanical Aptitude: Ability to disassemble, inspect, and reassemble complex pneumatic components with precision. 
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent diagnostic abilities to identify root causes of pneumatic system failures
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous focus on ensuring proper component fit and function. 
  • Blueprint Reading: Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics for pneumatic systems
