Additional Information About the Role PRN Chaplain Role at Memorial Hospital Bellevillle/Memorial Hospital Shiloh This position may include some OP work a the Siteman Cancer Center in Shiloh as well. Overview Memorial Hospital Belleville is an acute care hospital offering medical and surgical services plus critical and emergency care including Children’s at Memorial for pediatric emergency care. It provides patients a full complement of diagnostic and treatment services as well as heart and vascular care. Memorial, offering medical and surgical services plus critical care, is an accredited Chest Pain Center with PCI by the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care and is designated as an Acute Stroke Ready Hospital by the Illinois Department of Public Health. In addition, Memorial Belleville recently was accredited by the American College of Radiology as a designated Lung Cancer Screening Center. Since 2008, it has been designated as a Magnet®-recognized organization for nursing excellence by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Memorial Hospital Shiloh , a 94-bed, all-private suite hospital was recognized with Magnet status in 2018 and provides emergency care, labor & delivery, nursery, medical and surgical services plus critical care. The Pastoral Care Department addresses the spiritual/religious dimension of the patients as an integral part of the health care delivery team. Upon request we will notify patient's clergy as well as provide additional services in ethical, moral and spiritual matters to this institution and staff.  Chaplains provide education and assistance to patients regarding advance directives as requested. Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose Provides spiritual care, short term counseling, worship leadership, education and other religious support to patients, families and staff as members of the interdisciplinary care team. Responsibilities
  • Provides direct spiritual care to patients and families.
  • Provides consultation to other members of the care team regarding spiritual issues and resources in patient and family care and regarding ethics.
  • Provides direct pastoral care to staff and physicians, as needed, complementing staff support services provided by others.
  • Contributes to the field of professional spiritual care by conducting and reporting research, publishing and providing workshops at professional meetings.
Minimum Requirements Education
  • Master's Degree

Preferred Requirements Licenses & Certifications
  • 1 Unit ACPE CPE or equiv
  • Board Chaplain APC,NACC,AJC
  • Ordination or eligible
