SUMMARY:
The RN supports the Provider in the delivery of patient care within the Urgent Care Center (UCC) setting by providing urgent/emergent patient care under the direction of a physician or Nurse Practitioner. They are responsible for documentation, order entry, stocking/unit supplies and patient transportation within building or to and from car as required. The RN performs interventions under the direction of the Provider within their scope of education and licensure and within UCC established Medical Direction Protocols. This includes, but not limited to, triaging patients to prioritize care, rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, splinting, lab draws, IV insertion/fluid administration, medication administration, wound care, or additional duties as assigned within scope of practice. The RN will assist management with the overseeing of ordering supply, organization of the clinic, communication with the UC Tech regarding updates pertaining to practice, process, and supplies, as well as communication with the Medical Director as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- The RN will render professional services to Estes Park Health (EPH) in the arena of Urgent Care Medical Services for the hospital, including all related facilities, clinics, and services. They will faithfully, industriously and to the best of his/her ability, perform all duties that may be required by virtue of the position and all duties set forth in EPH’s governing laws, regulations, contracts, bylaws, and in policy statements of the Board of Directors. The Lead Tech will be committed towards the fulfillment of EPH’s values, mission, strategy, and the achievement of its annual goals and objectives.
- Provide expert, compassionate, individualized patient care for patients and families. Collaborate with providers, staff and other members of the team to achieve optimal patient outcomes
- Triage incoming patient requests for services as needed; oversee the daily patient flow to optimize patient care, safety and satisfaction using healthcare assessment skills, prioritizing skills and critical thinking skills.
- Assists with and performs patient care including collection of patient information, accurate reading and documentation of vital signs, and recording activities and treatments on the EMR. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
- Performs various procedures, processes, and other duties as assigned under provider delegation
- Administer medications to patients and records patient responses as directed, within scope of practice.
- Maintains exam and treatment rooms and other areas. Cleans equipment following established guidelines. Ensures that established standard supply levels are maintained.
- Protects patients and employees by assisting in maintaining a clean, safe working environment, and adhering to infection control policies and protocols
- Ability to work in an environment of strict confidentiality and maintain such an environment, both at work and in off-hours.
- Oversees ordering and outdating medical,dietary, and office supplies.
- Oversees general organization of clinic and storage areas.
- Oversees routine lab QC, and organization and filing of lab testing records.
- Communicates needs for facility maintenance and safety to appropriate leadership.
- Communicates needs for medical equipment maintenance and replacement to appropriate leadership.
- Communicates information updates regarding practice, process, and supplies to UCC staff.
- Assists in orienting and providing continuing education for new and existing tech staff.
- Maintains familiarity with current State of Colorado Paramedic and EMT-B IV Scope of Practice and assists Medical Director in aligning tech staff competencies.
- All other duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Licensed Registered Nurse
- ED/UC experience, 2+ yrs
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider, ACLS, PALS, Certifications
PAY RANGE:
$33.92 - $46.13 per hour
Weekend Day Differential: $3.00/hr
Weekday Night Differential: $6.00/hr
Weekend Night Differential: $7.00/hr
$10,000 bonus after 90 days of employment.
