Job Description:
Job Title: Respiratory Therapist – RRT (CRT Considered)
Location: Mechanicsburg, PA 17055
Shift Schedule: 5 x 8-hour shifts (Day/Eve/Night availability)
Duration: 13 Weeks (Possible extension depending on business needs)
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours/week
Pay Range: $50/hr - $62 per hour on a W2
Responsibilities:
Deliver safe and effective respiratory therapy to patients, including aerosol treatments, oxygen therapy, tracheostomy care, suctioning, and ventilator management.
Monitor, assess, and document patient response to respiratory interventions.
Evaluate physician orders and implement care plans in accordance with facility policies and clinical guidelines.
Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and care planning.
Respond to respiratory emergencies and perform interventions such as manual resuscitation and airway management.
Maintain respiratory equipment and ensure proper infection control procedures are followed.
Educate patients and families on respiratory health and equipment usage as appropriate.
Accurately chart all procedures, therapies, and supply usage in the EMR system.
Skills/Experience Needed:
Minimum 1 year of experience in respiratory therapy – Required
Long-term acute care, subacute, or ventilator-dependent care experience – Preferred
Strong assessment and clinical decision-making skills
Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team
Familiarity with electronic documentation systems
Education:
Associate’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy or 2 additional years of related experience – Required
Certifications:
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – from NBRC – Preferred
Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) – from NBRC – Accepted
Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) – State of Pennsylvania – Required
Basic Life Support (BLS) – Required
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – Preferred
COVID-19 Vaccination – Required per facility policy (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
