Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Safety Specialist to lead the implementation of front-line safety initiatives with a strong focus on achieving zero incidents. This role plays a critical part in ensuring regulatory compliance and fostering a proactive safety culture in the field.

Salary: $65,000 – $75,000 (Based on Experience)

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, maintain, and evaluate safety programs in compliance with OSHA/MSHA regulations and industry standards
  • Coordinate and facilitate employee safety training sessions
  • Recommend and implement hazard control measures
  • Conduct workplace inspections to ensure safe practices and equipment usage
  • Maintain employee training records and development paths
  • Advise project leaders on safety risks and improvement opportunities
  • Assist in incident investigations and follow-up actions
  • Stay current with regulatory changes and safety trends
  • Guide the onboarding and safety integration of new employees
  • Manage PPE inventory and assess equipment needs
  • Monitor field crews for high-risk behaviors and intervene as needed
  • Lead or support formal risk assessment and mitigation processes
  • Perform additional safety-related duties as assigned by the Safety Manager
Required Knowledge & Skills:
  • Strong understanding of OSHA/MSHA regulations and best practices
  • Familiarity with general site safety and mobile equipment operation
  • Knowledge of high-risk work safety protocols
  • Ability to design and deliver effective safety training
  • Understanding of adult learning and behavior modification techniques
  • Strong public speaking, facilitation, and team-building skills
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities
  • Proficient in English (verbal and written)
