Job Summary: Interested in developing leading edge cyber security solutions to protect cyber assets? Owl is hiring for a Senior Embedded Engineer. Owl’s Advanced Development Team is focused on developing high performance security solutions using FPGA and ARM technology. The job involves developing applications and drivers to assist the FPGA based cards with High-speed data transfer (up to 100gbps), packet filtering of TCP/IP, UDP, or different semi-structured data, as well as logging and system health reporting. Current and upcoming programs will be focused on developing unique network appliances for combatting emerging cyber threats. The Development group operates in small teams that practice the Agile Scrum Methodology to empower the team to build the best products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Overall knowledge of Linux and RTOS systems
- Design and development of embedded applications using C/C++ and/or Rust
- Design and development of Linux device drivers for custom devices
- Working with ARM/x86 systems including OS and applications
- Practice the Agile Scrum Methodology
- Integrate solutions with other Owl departments
Requirements/Qualifications: - Education
- College degree in computer engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, etc. (advanced degree a plus)
- 6+ years in embedded software development is required. Experience beyond will accordingly be compensated/titled.
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Experience with RTOS development
- Experience with Linux development
- C/C++ programming skills
- Python experience a plus
- GitLab experience preferred
- Rust experience a plus
- Agile cross-functional team experience a plus
- Additional Competencies/Requirements
- Work effectively within a team environment
- Limited travel may be required
- Remote working is an option
- Candidates must be able to obtain/maintain a US Government security clearance
