JOB DESCRIPTION

At Signature Aviation, we are modernizing aviation operations through technology.We are seeking a visionary Architect - Ops Engineering to lead the transformation of operational technology at our FBO locations.You will design next-generation systems to digitize and elevate the day-to-day experience for our team members and customers -- across Operations Management Systems (OMS), messaging platforms, reservations, point-of-sale (POS), and payment solutions. In this role, you will architect scalable, modern platforms and solutions that enhance operational efficiency, deliver real-time data insights, and integrate with AI-driven tools to power the FBO of the future.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Define and lead the technical architecture strategy for FBO Operations platforms -- including OMS, reservations, messaging, POS, and payment systems. Architect cloud-native, scalable, and resilient solutions that digitize FBO workflows and improve TM (Team Member) experiences on the ground. Collaborate closely with Product, Business Operations, AI, and Digital Engineering teams to co-create user-first, operationally sound technology solutions. Design integration patterns across operational platforms, CRM systems, third-party payment providers, and AI/ML services. Enable real-time messaging and task management platforms for efficient ramp operations, fueling, concierge services, and customer interactions. Drive modernization of legacy systems toward microservices, event-driven architectures, and API-first models. Support selection, customization, and integration of enterprise OMS and POS platforms aligned to operational needs. Establish standards for system reliability, availability, scalability, and observability -- driving SRE and DevOps practices into operational platforms. Participate actively in ARB (Architecture Review Board) to ensure architectural alignment and governance. Support innovation initiatives, including deploying AI-powered decision support, task automation, and predictive operational insights at the base.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Education and/or Experience: 10+ years of experience in software architecture, enterprise architecture, or platform engineering roles. Proven expertise in designing and modernizing large-scale operational platforms in industries like aviation, logistics, retail, or hospitality. Experience architecting cloud-native applications integrated with payment, reservation, messaging, and customer management systems. Strong understanding of hybrid cloud environments, IoT/mobility challenges at physical locations, and edge computing principles. Hands-on experience integrating or enabling AI/ML services in operational workflows. Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills. Strong understanding of security, compliance, and operational risk management. Proven track record of delivering complex projects and driving innovation within an organization. Additional knowledge and skills: Architecture: Microservices, event-driven design, domain-driven design (DDD). Cloud Platforms: Azure (preferred) or AWS, with focus on hybrid/on-premise integrations. Messaging Systems: Azure Service Bus, Kafka, Pub/Sub, Twilio integration for notifications. POS and Payment Systems: Payment gateways, mobile POS solutions, EMV compliance. OMS and CRM Integrations: OMS platforms, MSFT Dynamics APIs: REST, GraphQL, API-first development, API Management (Azure APIM). Security: OAuth 2.0, SSO, PCI-DSS compliance for payment data. Observability: Dynatrace, Splunk, Azure Monitor, Prometheus. AI Enablement: Architecting systems to integrate with AI/ML models and decision engines. Azure Solutions Architect certification. Experience with mobile-first field operations solutions (iOS, Android apps for operations). Knowledge of aviation operations, ground handling, or FBO workflows is a plus. Background in deploying AI-powered or predictive systems into frontline environments.
