Job Description

We are working with a growing food manufacturing firm that that is looking to bring on an entry level Staff Accountant. The company is a family owned business that makes specialty food products. They are based in north Fort Worth. This role will work directly with the Controller and will be a great learning opportunity.

Duties and Responsibilities

Day-to-day Activities:

• Enter vendor invoices and process payments
• Record wire transfers
• Support with desktop bank deposits
• Record customer payments and ensure accurate application to accounts
• Assist with accounts receivable and collections as needed
• Perform research and assist with ad hoc analysis as needed

Month End/Year End:

• Reconcile and review AP and AR aging; follow up on outstanding items
• Review purchase clearing accounts and close open POs as needed
• Reconcile credit card activity and prepare related journal entries
• Review key expense accounts and initiate reclass entries when necessary
• Prepare journal entries and reconciliations to support monthly close
• Assist in year-end audit requirements and documentation
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Technical Skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics is preferred but not required
• General understanding of GAAP
• Comfortable working with reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reports

The company offers a competitive base salary plus health insurance that is 100% paid for by the company. This position will also be hybrid once this person acclimated/trained.
