Part-Time Teacher
(Sign-On Bonus upon hire is $500 and another $500 upon completion of 90 days)

The roles and responsibilities of the Teacher will promote early education in our most needed communities.  

• The Teacher is responsible for partnering with the classroom team to provide developmentally and culturally appropriate lesson plans for the classroom in the absence of one of the regular classroom teachers
• As the part of the classroom team, the Teacher works with the team to effectively manage the classroom environment
• Promotes recognition, acceptance, and positive interactions among children, families, and staff in the classroom 
• Facilitates lesson plans in cooperation with the classroom team
• The part-time Teacher will be a position in partnership with Early Childhood Education directly impacting the West Town neighborhood.

POSITION SUMMARY: 

The Teacher is responsible for partnering with the classroom teaching team to actively facilitate the education, care, and general development of the children following DCFS licensing, NAEYC, and Head Start performance standards. 

No travel required; on-site work

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Associates degree in Early Childhood Education
• Illinois Gateways ECE credential level 4 or Infant Toddler credential level 3
• Bilingual/bicultural Spanish preferred 
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds 
• Criminal, Child Abuse and Neglect, and Sex Offender background checks are mandatory
