Experienced Stainless Steel Welder / Fabricator required in Marshfield, WI, US. Mastery in welding, grinding, and fabrication. Emphasis on accuracy and excellence. Responsibilities:
- Ensure all safety procedures, policies, and work practices are followed, including reporting incidents, injuries, and illnesses to a supervisor.
- Demonstrate a positive attitude and collaborate effectively with colleagues.
- Wear all necessary PPE, such as steel-toe boots, gloves, eye protection, ear protection, and protective suits.
- Be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Oversee production of 1-4 personnel and perform quality checks as needed.
- Mark bending and cutting lines onto workpieces.
- Design and assemble templates and fixtures.
- Optimize workflows and adhere to production schedules.
- Interpret blueprints, weld symbols, weld and material finish, required tolerances, and other written instructions.
- Select suitable welding base materials, filler wires, and gas.
- Prepare the product to be welded by cutting, drilling, tapping, and grinding.
- Align components using measuring tools.
- Set up a welder and understand parameters.
- Weld parts in various positions using manual and semi-automatic welding equipment.
- Test and inspect welded surfaces and structures for accuracy.
- Create quality finishes using hand and power tools.
- Operate and troubleshoot equipment, and report any issues to management.
Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is a mandatory requirement for this position.
- The candidate must have at least 3 years of proven experience in welding and fabricating, specifically focusing on TIG and MIG weld types.
- In-depth understanding of welding techniques and practices is crucial, including successful completion of mandatory BSI weld testing (ASME).
- While a technical or professional certification (AWS) is preferred, it is not mandatory.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical documents, and drawings is essential.
- Knowledge of safety standards and willingness to use protective gear like safety glasses, face shield, boots, and gloves is a must.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a solid mechanical aptitude are necessary skills.
- Physical requirements include the ability to walk, bend, stoop, lift objects up to 50 lbs, and work in various positions.
- The candidate should be able to stand and work for extended periods (8-10 hours) and be capable of lifting, twisting, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, sitting, and occasionally climbing.
- Strong communication skills are needed, including the ability to solicit, process, and integrate feedback effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and address conflicts, engage in open and honest dialogue, and provide constructive feedback is required.
- Sound knowledge of production equipment, including electrical and manual tools, and basic computer skills are necessary.
- A solid grasp of mathematical principles is fundamental for this role.
