Job Description
The Volunteer and Education Coordinator, an AmeriCorps member, will be focused on implementing a contact and volunteer participation data collection system that is integrated into Red Rock Audubons integrated information system(Flipcause). The member will also develop and coordinate Red Rock Audubons education programs. Additionally, the position will focus on membership and volunteer recruitment and retention and will facilitate all member and volunteer communications and events to help expand Red Rock Audubons presence in the Las Vegas community.
Position Description:
The Volunteer and Education Coordinator will be an essential member of the Red Rock Audubon team(Content, Education, Membership, Climate, Content and Help our Bird). Under the guidance of the Membership Systems Chair, this person will manage the membership and contact relations module in Flipcause while tracking, communicating and reporting on all designed and ad hoc outreach results. Using the contact data, this person will help develop large annual community events, focusing on Big Sits and Nevada Birdathon., and recommend and implement improvements to member and volunteer satisfaction and retention.

Timeline for Service: January, 2022 - August, 2022 (contract can be renewed if the individual and RRAS mutually agree)
Schedule:
Monday - Friday, some after hours and weekend events. 30hrs/week.
Primary Responsibilities
Improve and maintain the RRAS contact relations database.
Develop protocols for capturing initial contact, cultivation, and retentions of members and volunteers in Flipcause.
Capture contacts interests when signing up for RRAS events in Flipcause and in social media groups
Develop and implement RRAS community education programs and events
Assist with developing community partnerships and events to support the RRAS
Secondary Responsibilities
Assist with other RRAS events and programs.
Serve as a Red Rock Audubon ambassador at all RRAS events.
Qualifications
Ability to pass a background check;
Bachelor"s degree and/or experience in data management and social media channels;
Passionate commitment to Red Rock Audubons mission and vision;
Exceptional writing skills;
Experience in and willingness to engage with the public, members and volunteers;
Strong communication skills;
Strong organizational skills;
High degree of initiative and spirit of service;
Preferred: Experience in contact management programs and databases;
Preferred: Reading, writing, and speaking competency in Spanish language
Preferred: Resident of Clark County
Preferred: Current students or graduates of southern Nevada colleges
Member Compensation and Benefits:
AmeriCorps members receive a modest living allowance of $8,471 for a half term (approximately 6 months) and a Segal AmeriCorps Education Award of $3,172.50. Half term service members also receive an AmeriCorps/RRAS t-shirt, hoodie, hat, and water bottle. Service members have the option to apply for student loan forbearance, and may be eligible for SNAP and Medicaid benefits.
