About Us:

JetPens is an online retailer, specializing in premium writing instruments and office supplies. We have been featured in Wired, New York Times, and CNBC.

Role:

  • We are looking for a part-time bilingual (English & Korean) buyer to join our Merchandising & Supply Chain Team.

Responsibilities:

  • Research, select, and purchase products that fit the JetPens brand.
  • Build relationships with suppliers and negotiate with them for the best pricing and supply chain solutions.
  • Arrange transport of goods and support customs clearance to ensure timely receipt.
  • Analyze market trends and apply this knowledge to make insightful buying decisions.
  • Coordinate with receiving, fulfillment, customer service, and marketing teams as required.
  • Assess quality of stock received and escalate any discrepancies to suppliers and management.
  • Use product knowledge to support product content creation for JetPens website and various media platforms.
  • Ability to travel to trade shows both domestic and abroad.

Qualifications & Qualities We Look For:

  • BA/BS degree.
  • Korean language fluency in reading, writing, and speaking is a must have.
  • Strong English skills required.
  • Relevant purchasing or merchandising experience preferred.
  • Excellent computer skills (especially with Excel).
  • Critical thinking and negotiation skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal in both English and Korean.
  • Basic understanding of inventory accounting principles and practices.
  • Passion for stationery.

Bonus Points:

  • Previous experience in e-commerce or merchandising.

Hours & Pay:

  • Hours:
    • Monday - Friday.
    • Four hours per day within the hours of 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM.
      • Can work remotely 4 days a week, but must be on-site at least 1 day each week.
  • Compensation:
    • Starting rate: $21.50 - $23.50 / hour, DOE.
    • Pay range: $21.50 - $43.25 / hour.
    • Opportunities for raises based on semi-annual performance review.
