Carrier Operations Support Rep Location Vernon Hills, IL :

Description The Carrier Operations role is responsible for managing transportation events and ensuring customer satisfaction. This is an entry level role that provides a career path to being promoted into a carrier sales representative!

What you'll do:

  • Manage transportation events and enhance carrier utilization to ensure on-time deliveries and customer satisfaction
  • Manages inbound and outbound documentation for drivers/loads for accuracy
  • Proactively confirm all future orders have all necessary documents and pickup/delivery information
  • Work directly with customers on forward-looking order commitments, to advise when appointments should be made, utilizing SOPS and data driven statistics
  • Provide customer support, shipment updates, and oversight for assigned shipments
  • Responds to carrier partners concerns timely and professionally
  • Works with internal teams to meet customer requirements and communicate service delays and/or issues
  • Participates in negotiating rates and establishing relationships with carriers partners
  • Maintain data integrity on Macropoint/GPS tracking

What you'll have:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work or military experience is preferred
  • 1 year of experience in related logistics or transportation is preferred
  • Ability to communicate with credibility and build customer relationships
  • Moderate Excel skills and the ability to learn required software
