An Engineering firm is looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented person to join our team and continue to help grow our company. The drawing review coordinator position is a newly created role within our company. The primary responsibility for this position is the reviewof steel shop and erection drawings for conformance with our designs. This role may vary depending on the candidate and their relevant experience. Experience is not required, but the role could expand for candidates with relevant experience.
Role & Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities will include reviewing shop and erection drawings for conformance with our designs
Marking up drawings from the steel detailer that require engineer review or detailing updates
This position is similar to a checker for a steel detailing firm, but is limited to reviewing our designed connections and scope only
Drawing reviews will primarily be structural steel shop drawings but may include miscellaneous steel as well
Further responsibilities could include project coordination, assisting with estimating, reviewing drawing revisions, etc., depending on the candidate's skill set and experience
Requirements & Skills
Relevant experience is not required but is a plus
Experience with steel detailing, estimating, or steel fabrication is a plus
High School diploma required; Associates degree or better is a plus
Enthusiasm and desire to succeed and develop technical skills
Attention to detail, logical problem-solving skills, and strong organizational skills are required
Ability to work well with a team and work well alone, depending on the task
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Software skills with BlueBeam, and Trimble Connect are a plus
Ability to read construction documents is a plus
