Job Title: Investigative Producer - WSB TV

Position Overview

WSB-TV Atlanta is seeking a full-time Investigative Producer with excellent news judgment, strong writing and research skills, creativity, and investigative experience to help drive the best local newscasts in Atlanta. The ideal candidate will be comfortable enterprising and producing compelling investigative stories for all platforms, within the Special Projects unit and for daily newscasts, as needed. You should have strong field producing, interviewing, and writing skills for TV and website, and must be a self-starter who's able to multitask and pivot quickly when priorities change. Candidates with experience filing records requests, obtaining/analyzing data, and developing sources preferred. We're looking for a naturally curious, competitive producer who is a strong leader, a team player, and who communicates and collaborates well with others to create top-notch investigative content.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Generate original, compelling and data driven investigative content.
• See project through from pitch to postproduction.
• Incorporate station research and branding consistently to deliver information our viewers a looking for.
• Be comfortable working with digital and social newsgathering and news-distributing platforms. 
• Candidates must also embrace change, breaking news, be comfortable working with reporters in the field.

Minimum Qualifications

• Prior experience as an investigative journalist.
• Experience in handling FOIA/public records requests, computer-assisted reporting, and data analysis.
• Flexibility to jump in on daily news when necessary. 
• Ability to communicate clearly and delegate effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism or related field.
• Experience filing records requests, obtaining/analyzing data, and developing sources preferred
