Job Description

Laird Law Firm provides quality legal services in a broad range of areas including, but not limited to, business/corporate transactions and counseling, estate planning and estate and trust administration, family law, litigation, and real estate transactions.  

Responsibilities for this position include assisting attorneys and collaborating with firm employees.  This position requires providing support with various tasks such as transcribing dictation, communication with clients, and preparing legal documents.  

The Office Secretary Assistant/Legal Assistant organizes and maintains client files, in paper and electronic form, and provides general administrative assistance such as maintaining attorney calendars.   

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Collect, examine, and organize documents for attorneys and other staff.  

• Draft and proofread correspondence and legal documents, such as pleadings and contracts.

• Summarize legal documents. 

• Communicate with clients and witnesses to schedule meetings.

• Manage, organize, and maintain documents in paper or electronic filing systems.

• Provide general administrative assistance, such as maintaining attorney calendars. 

Qualified applicants have prior experience in a legal or office setting, and general knowledge of office technology and software, excellent grammar, proofreading skills, and attention to detail.  Qualified applicants have the ability to work independently within a team-oriented environment, are highly organized, and demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.  

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $19.00 - $25.00 per hour

Schedule: Monday to Friday

Education: Associate’s degree (Preferred)

Experience: Two years of experience as a secretary or office assistant or legal assistant (Preferred)
