Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Virtual Sign Language Interpreter to join our growing team! This remote, 1099 contract position provides the flexibility to work from home while making a meaningful impact by supporting students across North Carolina in their educational journey.

In this role, you will play a crucial part in facilitating communication by interpreting classroom content, discussions, and lessons in American Sign Language (ASL). You'll also have the opportunity to collaborate with a dedicated clinical and technical team, ensuring you have the support and resources you need to thrive in your role.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide remote ASL interpretation for students in various educational settings, ensuring clear and accurate communication.
Collaborate closely with teachers, students, and other staff to support effective communication and accessibility.
Utilize virtual platforms to deliver interpreting services seamlessly.
Integrate a comprehensive toolkit to enhance student learning and engagement.
Maintain detailed records of interpreting sessions in line with state and school guidelines.

Qualifications:

Minimum 3.0 EIPA (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment) score required.
Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter.
Experience interpreting in an educational environment is preferred.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to problem-solve and adapt.
Comfort with virtual platforms and technology to deliver interpreting services effectively.
Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule.
