The Project & Policy Analyst (P&PA) in the UCLA Department of Earth, Planetary, and Space Sciences is part of the Tripati and Eagle Lab Groups and will support personnel and provides organizational leadership and day-to-day management of personnel , and collaborates with faculty Principal Investigators to align project implementation with policy, schedule, and resources. The incumbent supports programming needs of federal funding agencies and foundations, the department and UCLA Green STEM community, and collaborators to set strategic goals, track progress, identify and analyze critical issues, and recommend and implement solutions. Incumbent is responsible for all administrative elements of the Tripati/Eagle group, as well as managing facilities, providing training and documentation, and developing vendor relationships to secure specialized equipment/supplies/services. The P&PA also plans large public outreach events, meetings and conferences to maximize project impact; assists in data collection and analysis, literature surveys, review of policy briefs and bulletins, and drafting proposal budgets; synthesizes current scientific literature, composes articles for academic and lay audiences, and disseminates research results and activities through multiple media platforms.
